First produced in Maryland in the 1890s, the Pikesville brand – along with the rest of the oncethriving Maryland Rye industry – was shuttered by Prohibition. The brand re-emerged after Prohibition and became the only remaining Maryland Rye, as the rest of the industry’s production had ceased. Pikesville is now produced in Bardstown, Kentucky by the private, family-owned Heaven Hill Distilleries.
