Chateau Teyssier has a long history of production in Bordeaux dating back to 1714 and is currently one of the largest selling Saint Emilion Grand Crus. Their wines are generally made to high standards using the same equipment and methods that are used for their entry levels and all the way up to the top end single vineyard wines. This has a lovely nose, expressive, pure, bright and open, with perfumed red plums and a chalky freshness giving it a sense of purity and lift. A serious, broad and textural palate, rich and filled with spiced plum fruit, with a peppery energy through the middle. There is plenty of grip, velvety and tightly grained, and bright acidity as well. Quite possibly one of the best wines from Chateau Teyssier.
