Petit Chablis comes from the higher ground on the outskirts of Chablis, usually on the younger and less highly prized Portlandian soil. Alain Geoffroy's, however, is located on the Kimmeridgian limestone that has made the mineral-driven wines of Chablis so famous. Making this a very serious wine for its price and a go-to white for summer lunches, big dinner parties, fish, seafood, goat's cheese, crunchy salads, and filling the wine rack.
