Mount Pleasant 1965 Vines Rosehill Vineyard Shiraz 2018

For 100 years, Mount Pleasant has produced iconic, elegant and expressive wines championing the fruit and individual character of our four vineyard sites. The rare ancestral vines include some of the oldest clone plantings in the country. This makes the Old Hill vineyard, while best known for Shiraz, the oldest Pinot Noir vineyard in Australia. Rosehill 1965 vines is a special site planted by Brian Walsh, 3 small blocks uniquely planted to provide great contrast on the one soil type. 3 parcels all picked and fermented separately, with one parcel utilizing around 10% Whole bunches.  A short cold soak and fermentation time, before pressing to tank and transfer to large format French oak at 20% new.  After 11 months, the wine was blended and bottled.
