After a patchy history, it produces more blending whisky than anything else. Aultmore was sold to Dewars, who offered the first ever official bottling in 2004 - thus Aultmore of this ilk is not common. The house style has been described as"fragrant on the nose, substantial on the tongue." It is more typically light-bodied, spicy, and fruity with primarily American oak influence. Very highly prized by blenders.Matured in two Bourbon hogsheads with an outturn of 450 bottles, this is one of the older Aultmores ever released - and very reasonably priced for such an age statement. Expect ginger, peaches, and cream on the nose, with allspice, lemon zest, and coriander on the palate.
