Reschke Rufus the Bull Cabernet Sauvignon
2011 was a memorable year in Coonawarra, for it's above average rainfall during winter and cold spring temperatures that contributed to a slow budburst. This caused a shorter shoot growth up to flowering in November. Despite the challenging heavy rainfall, the fruit set was relatively even in all varieties, exhibiting good varietal characters, at lower maturity and alcohol levels. Early harvested fruit exhibited key Cabernet characteristics at much lower baume (sugar levels) than in recent vintages. In summary, 2011 vintage produced small volumes of medium bodied, traditional wines.
